Thyroid Disorders - Symptoms, Causes and Treatments

Hashimoto S Thyroiditis Diet Thyroid Disorders - Symptoms, Causes and Treatments.

What is a Thyroid Disorder?

It is when the thyroid begins to stop working optimally and interferes with many of the body's most important functions. It can impact; body weight, energy, sleep, hair and skin issues, fertility and menstruation, memory, concentration and mood, bone strength and cholesterol levels. Given that the thyroid is responsible for the production of hormones it impacts so many areas and organs of the body - quite literally it impacts every cell of the body.

There are typically three over arching conditions associated with Thyroid disorders; overactive thyroid, underactive thyroid and nodules or cancer of the thyroid.

Overactive thyroid tends to affect women more than men. This is when the body creates too many hormones and it can result in sudden weight loss, irregular heart beat, sweating, changes in bowel habits, fatigue and difficulty sleeping. Some women develop Postpartum thyroiditis which is a temporary swelling of the thyroid and it goes away within six months.

Underactive Thyroid - results in too little hormones being created and can result in increased weight gain, constipation, horse voice and swollen face, poor concentration and sleepiness. Another condition associated with Underactive thyroid is Hashimoto's Disease which is where the immune system reacts with the thyroid gland.

Thyroid Nodules are extremely common and most tend to be benign or non cancerous. Thyroid Cancer is typically treated with surgery and in some cases it can be followed up with readioactive iodine.

For a natural treatment to ensure that you body and thyroid is working at it's optimum it is important to remember the triple threat to ward off illness; diet, exercise and lifestyle - finding balance with work/life. The body is a magnificent creation and when you give it the food/fuel that it requires it will transform your health in more ways than you can imagine.

One note I tell every one is "always remember to fill your body with enzymatically live foods that feed and nourish the body so that it can begin and continue to work optimally. One of the best food sources I have found today is Isagenix . I recommend it to everyone I know because I have seen what it has done for my body and my entire family. Truly amazing stuff!
